As well as keeping active, here’s some suggestions as things you can do to keep busy during your admission. Some of these suggestions were given from people who have also been in quarantine (both hospital and hotel).

  • Brisbane Libraries have a catalogue of digital resources including e-books, music and movies. If you live elsewhere in Australia, you may be able to join your own local library online.
  • “Try and make the environment more homely – I had a reed diffuser delivered which helped me relax so much more.”
  • Online board games such as Skribbl
  • DailyPuzzle has an assortment of puzzles such as Sudoku and crosswords – these are updated daily
  • Reading – here are some of the best books of 2020, some recommended ‘quarantine reads’ or if you’d like to browse some book recommendations based on genre, or from books you’ve already read and enjoyed, check out GoodReads.com
  • Colouring books – you can colour these in on a tablet or smart phone. These are also great for children.
  • Language learning apps such as DuoLingo (free) and Babbel (paid-for) are good ways to either learn an entirely new language or as a language refresher
  • Try and video chat or speak with with family / a friend at least once a day
  • “Forming a routine and blocking out my day with activities and things to do was really helpful”
