Site activity update – Tuesday 2 to Friday 12 May 2023

Clinical Services Building and Central Energy Building sites

Construction activities:

  • Ongoing installation of hydraulics, mechanical, fire protection, electrical services and lifts.
  • Ongoing façade infill installation.
  • Ceiling installation on Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4.
  • Fittings and fixtures installation on Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4.
  • Floor finishes and painting on Levels 1,2,3 and 4.
  • Central courtyard façade and glazing construction.
  • Fitout works ongoing for the Central Energy Building.
  • Linkway activities.
  • Continuation of existing window infills.
  • Continuation of roadworks on mental health road.
  • Commissioning activities.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
  • Single lane closure on hospital ring road leading into mental health managed by traffic lights and traffic controllers.

CSB Level 5

Multi-Storey Car Park site

Construction activities:

  • Footpath works external to the car park
  • Ramp way screen installation works   
  • Commencement of civil road works.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
  • Localised impact to hospital ring road managed by traffic lights and traffic controllers during tree removal.

Building and Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) Building site (southern side of the hospital campus)

Construction activities: 

  • Ongoing sheeting, setting, sanding and painting to internal walls and internal ceilings.
  • Continuation of flooring activities.
  • Commencement of joinery installation
  • Reinstatement works to existing easement.
  • Asphalt works to civil area
  • Hoist installation.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

New storage facilities site (western side of hospital campus)

Construction activities:

  • In-ground electrical and comms pits.
  • Electrical works.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Mortuary and Hearse Bay works (services block refurbishment works)

Construction activities:

  • Ongoing structure activities.
  • Perimeter wall and full height wall demolition.
  • Commencement of high-level service installation.

What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity and vehicle movements on the southern side of the hospital campus, near the public carpark.
  • Localised corridor impacts during full height wall demolition managed by spotters.

Level 2 Tea room works (Main block refurbishment works)

  • New access door complete
  • Establishment of hoarding and negative pressure area for stage 2 works
  • Wall and doors demolition
  • Framing/sheeting/sanding activities

What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity in dirty corridor and L2 tearoom. Construction workers accessing via lifts adjacent medical records.
