Site Activity Update – Fortnight commencing 22 March 2021

The project hotline, 1300 144 425 is operational and our team can be contacted from 6am – 6pm, Monday to Friday. If you are calling outside of these hours, please leave a detailed message and one of our team members will return your call on the next business day.

New Clinical Services Building

Civil works continue on the new Clinical Services Building located on the McKean Street side of the hospital site. Over the coming weeks, the site will commence installation of large pre-cast beams which are eight metres in length, weigh approximately 15 tonne each and will create the structure of the ground floor of the building. These beams will be lifted into place by our first tower crane ‘Lifty Shifty’ who arrived on site over the weekend.
What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity in the area.
  • Minor traffic delays during delivery of beams.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

McKean Street signalised intersection

The new signalised intersection on McKean Street, located at the new emergency entry road into Caboolture Hospital, will become operational towards the end of March / early April.
Adjustments to signal programming may be needed during the initial operational period. If required, these works will take place over the coming months, until early May.
Thank you for your understanding and patience while construction of the new intersection has been underway.

New bus stop on McKean Street (ID 310304)

Construction of the permanent bus stop located on the southern side of McKean Street will commence soon and will be due for completion by late-March (weather permitting). The existing bus stop will remain in use until the permanent bus stop is operational.
What to expect:

  • Footpath closure during installation with alternate pedestrian diversion in place.
  • Increased construction activity in the area.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Temporary Contractors Carpark

The new temporary carpark being built for construction workers working on the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment Project will be completed in late March / early April. Due to wet weather this has been slightly delayed. The temporary carpark is located on Pettigrew Street behind St Columban’s College sporting fields and will remain in place for the duration of the project.
What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts during the final stages of construction. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
  • Following completion, increased vehicle activity may be experienced during peak periods (early morning and late afternoon) coinciding with start and finish times.

Multi-Storey Carpark

Civil works continue on the new multi-story carpark, located on the north eastern side of the hospital site with removal of the existing material and bulk filling activities being carried out.

What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity in this area
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

We hope you and your families have a safe and happy Easter.
