Site Activity Update – Fortnight commencing 17 May 2021

Clinical Services Building site

Construction activities:

  • The piling rig has been floated from the Clinical Services Building (CSB) site to start work on the Multi-Storey Carpark. Some further demobilisation activities will continue on the CSB site over the next fortnight.
  • The first precast beams have been delivered and placed in-situ for the CBS structure. Delivery and placement of the large beams and precast planks will continue.
  • Inground services and civil infrastructure works are ongoing
  • Pile cap construction will also continue, along with the first vertical pours of stair/lift core walls.

What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity in the area.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
  • Minor traffic delays during delivery of pre-cast beams.

 Multi-Storey Carpark activities

Piling activities have commenced for the Multi-Storey Carpark. Piling will be ongoing until approximately June 2021.

What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity and vehicle movements in this area.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

 Increased construction activity on the south-west side (near Bury Street) of the hospital

Modification works to the Bury St site accommodation have been completed. Ongoing service investigation works will be continuing within the site area for future BEMs building. Civil works for the BEMS building is due to start approximately June/July 2021.

What to expect:

  • Construction activity and vehicle movements near the project offices.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

 McKean Street activities

  • Pedestrian diversion on the south-east side of McKean Street (refer map below) will be in place until late-2022.
  • Temporary bus-stop will remain in use until the permanent structure is installed.

What to expect:

  • Footpath closure until late-2022.
  • Alternative pedestrian access maintained.
  • Pedestrian diversion signage in place.
  • Temporary bus-stop in use.
