Queensland Cancer Centre
The more than $1.1 billion Queensland Cancer Centre will be a purpose built, 150-bed facility that provides cutting-edge care and research. When it opens, the centre will deliver a range of new and innovative cancer treatments, including cellular therapy and theranostics.
It will also offer proton beam therapy, which uses radiation to more precisely target cancers near vital and vulnerable organs. This form of therapy is especially beneficial for children undergoing cancer treatment.
The centre will be located at the Herston Health Precinct in the Metro North Hospital and Health Service.
