Dr Anthony Silva (Director)
Dr Anthony Silva is the Director of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Director of BORG at The Prince Charles Hospital. He leads the group’s clinical and translational research program, focused on improving surgical outcomes and optimising patient recovery in orthopaedics. He is responsible for setting research strategy, overseeing collaborative studies, and facilitating the translation of research findings into clinical practice. His work emphasises evidence-based innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuous improvement in orthopaedic care.
Dr Julie Vermeir (Clinical Research Coordinator)
Dr Julie Vermeir is the Clinical Research Coordinator for BORG at The Prince Charles Hospital. She oversees research operations, including ethics and governance processes, patient recruitment, and the coordination of day to day study activities. She works closely with surgeons, trainees, and research staff to support the delivery of high quality orthopaedic clinical research. She also chairs the group’s regular research meetings, serves on The Prince Charles Hospital Research Council, and leads initiatives that foster collaboration and progress across the research program.
