Memory Clinic Patient Information
People come to the Memory Clinic when they, their family or their local GP notice changes in their memory or thinking, or if there are new problems with day-to-day activities.
What does the Memory Clinic do?
- Assess, find and treat causes of memory problems in patients.
- Teach, help and recommend treatment.
What happens at the clinic?
On your first visit you will see different members of the team, which may include specialist Geriatricians, Registrars, Social Workers, and Nurses
We will complete some testing of your memory and thinking skills.
After this first appointment you may need to do some extra investigations. This may include seeing a Neuropsychologist or having further brain scans.
Please allow 1-2 hours for the first visit.
There is no cost to attend this clinic.
What do I need to bring with me?
- A list of all your medications.
- Your glasses and hearing aids (if you have been prescribed these).
- Ideally bring a family member, friend or support worker to supply information.

The main building is located between the main entrance and the multistorey carpark.
There is onsite parking, for a fee.
