New Main Entry for Caboolture Hospital
The main entry into Caboolture Hospital and the public carpark have moved, with access via Mewett Street or Bury Street.
The new main entry includes a patient drop-off/pick-up zone and directional signage to ensure safe and easy access to the hospital. There is a covered area at the new main entry if you are dropping off or picking up passengers.
All transport and patient transfer companies have been directed to use the new main entry for all non-urgent passengers. Should you have any concerns or questions regarding access please contact the hospital prior to your arrival.
IMPORTANT: EMERGENCY PATIENT DROP-OFF VIA MCKEAN STREET
- Emergency drop-off will remain located at the front of the hospital with vehicle access off McKean Street.
- A new emergency drop-off/pick-up zone carpark (15 minutes) is available at the front of the hospital.
- A new covered walkway connecting the new emergency drop-off/pick-up zone to the front entry of the hospital will be installed in the coming weeks following demolition activities.
Demolition Activities Continue at Front of Hospital (September – October)
Demolition works continue this week with removal of the fire stairs located at the front of the hospital. Fire egress has been maintained to allow for fire stair demolition to occur. Control measures will be in place to minimise noise, dust and vibration disruptions as much as possible. Alternate fire egress paths within the existing hospital are now established.
What to expect:
- Increase in construction activity including demolition, saw cutting and excavation.
- Periodic hammering noise, dust and vibration.
- Minor delays due to traffic changes, partial road closures and truck movement around the construction site.
- Hammering activities will typically take place between 6:30am and 8:30am daily.
Preparation Begins for New Site Accommodation
Works have commenced on the new site accommodation which will become the main office location for both the Lendlease and Metro North Hospital and Health Service project teams. Several non-native trees have been removed from the area to facilitate accommodation installation. Works this week will include the preparation of the building footings and inground services work.
What to expect
- Minimal noise and vibration from excavation activities.
- Some minor traffic delays on the hospital ring road due to partial road closures.
- Two-way traffic will be maintained with traffic control in place.
New Screening Mammography Room
Works continue on the testing and commissioning of the new medical imaging room at Caboolture Hospital. The new Screening Mammography Room, containing fluoroscopy and mammography services, has relocated within the Medical Imaging department on the ground floor to make way for the new clinical services building. The new Screening Mammography Room is due to open in early October 2020.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank both patients, visitors and staff during this time.
