Site Activity Update – Week Commencing 26 October

Thank you for subscribing to receive weekly site activity updates.

Enabling works on the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment Project continue as preparations are made for major construction activity to commence in the coming months. The project hotline, 1300 144 425 remains operational and our team can be contacted anytime at CabooltureHospital@Lendlease.com

New Emergency Entrance – start of November

Installation of a new covered walkway located at the emergency entrance is due for completion in early November.  Once complete, patients entering the hospital from the emergency drop-off zone will use the new covered walkway to access the Emergency Entrance.

The new walkway will allow for the construction team to conduct further demolition work nearby in preparation for the new Clinical Services Building.

What to expect:

  • Changes to entrance location with wayfinding signage in place.
  • Increase in construction activity including demolition, saw cutting and excavation.
  • Periodic noise, dust and vibration. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

New Emergency Entry Road into Caboolture Hospital (October to November)

From Monday 26 October until late-November, works along the southern (hospital) side of McKean Street will continue with installation of inground services.

Once works on the hospital side of McKean Street are complete, a new entry road into the hospital will open. The new road will be used by emergency services vehicles and patients accessing the Emergency Department, or by women in active labour. The opening of the new road allows construction on the new multi-storey carpark to commence.

What to expect:

  • Footpath closure with alternative access routes to/from the hospital, temporary bus stop and shopping centre.
  • Reduced speeds to 40km per hour along McKean Street.
  • Continued construction activity and vehicle movement.
  • Periodic noise, dust and vibration. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
  • Existing entry road off McKean Street will become redundant once the new entry road opens

Short Term Lane Closure – McKean Street (Wednesday 28 – Thursday 29 October)

On Wednesday 28 October and Thursday 29 October, the single lane (southern/hospital side) of McKean Street, located in front of the former McKean Kidz childcare, will be partially closed from 9am until 2pm to allow for construction of stormwater services.

What to expect:

  • Two-way traffic will be maintained under a stop/go traffic control.
  • Local motorists may experience minor traffic delays associated with the partial closure.

Internal Fit-Out of Site Accommodation (October to December)

From Monday 26 October until the start of December, works will continue on the new project site offices located behind Community and Oral Health, bordering Caboolture State High School’s basketball courts.

The new office accommodation is a two-storey stacked structure, using temporary demountable buildings.

Construction activity includes works to finish the external access points to the building including stairs, ramps and walkways. The team will also commence fit-out of the office space with installation of ICT, lighting and furniture.

The new building consists of meeting rooms, offices and facilities for the Lendlease and Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment teams.

What to expect:

  • Continued construction activity and vehicles in the area.
  • Single lane closures on Bury Street and the Hospital Ring Road for ongoing inground services work.
  • Two way traffic flow will be maintained under traffic control.

New Parking Zone for Construction Workforce (commencing late October/early November)

From late November, all construction workers and subcontractors associated with the redevelopment project will be required to park in a new designated carpark located along Pettigrew Street.

This move frees up the former helipad and public carpark, which are located on the site of the new Clinical Services Building being built between the existing hospital and McKean Street.
