Graduate midwife inspired to make a difference

Caboolture Hospital Graduate Midwife Hannah Smith.

From 12 years old, Hannah knew she wanted to be a midwife.

It was a visit from the Watoto Children’s Choir to her church that inspired her to make a difference in the lives of women and children living in vulnerable countries.

Hannah’s dad suggested she pursue a career in medicine, and from that moment, Hannah decided that a career in midwifery was for her.

Now a Graduate Midwife at Caboolture Hospital, Hannah feels so blessed to share those first moments with mum after birth “when oxytocin is flowing everywhere and mum gets to hold her newborn baby for the first time”.

Hannah says midwifery is a challenging but hugely rewarding profession and would encourage everyone to consider a career in Midwifery.

Let’s say thanks to all the amazing midwives!
