Adult Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation ECMO Course 2025

This 4-day course will enable multidisciplinary teams with little ECMO experience to provide ECMO for patients with severe cardiac and respiratory failure.

Caboolture Hospital registered nurse Khanh is driving great patient-focussed research direct from the ED! 🛌
She is the first Caboolture Hospital RN to qualify for the QUT (Queensland University of Technology) Nursing Research Internship program, which allows her a 12-month scholarship with a pathway to PhD study. 🙌🧑⚕️
"I'm looking forward to learning the art of research, and how I can make an impact as a nurse with my knowledge and background in ED," Khanh shares.
"With digital health replacing paper-based care, I'm hoping to understand how the digital program changes the way nurses and patients communicate with one another.
"The emergency department is a fast paced and environment, but it's always important to remember there's still a person behind the screen." 🩷

"My job as an interior house cleaning franchisee led to a new role as Business Coach mentoring new starters. I've enjoyed helping them learn and grow, it's important to align our ethics and morals to ensure they're a good fit. This has given me the chance to step back from the full-time demand and introduce a bit of flexibility, which has meant I have lots of new plans like selling one house, building a new one and travelling in a motor home. It would be great to spend a bit more time in places that I used to only fly into."

More than 200 patients come through the Caboolture Hospital ED every single day, requiring a monumental effort from our staff.
Assistant in Nursing and Peer Responder Scott wanted to bring some joy to his peers in the busy department, so he created Wally the Wellness Trolley - a cart stocked full of snacks, paired with smiles and support.
“We’re busier than ever, so important our team feels supported so we can continue providing great care,” Scott said.
"One of the great heroes of my life is Hunter 'Patch' Adams who was played by the late, great Robin Williams - that is the basis behind Wally."
The initiative is entirely funded and restocked by staff and is quickly becoming a simple and effective way to keep everyone smiling! 😃
