Site activity update – Monday 17 to Friday 30 April 2023
No works will take place over the Easter break with site closed from Friday 7 April, and reopening Monday 17 April. The
project hotline, 1300 144 425 is operational during this time and our team can be contacted from 6am – 6pm, Monday to Friday. If you are calling outside of these hours, please leave a detailed message and one of our team members will return your call on the next business day.
Tower crane removal out of normal work hours with traffic changes on McKean Street
The project’s last tower crane will be removed from site. To maintain safety during this activity, the tower crane will be removed out of normal work hours, from 5pm Friday 28 to Sunday 30 April 2023. Please see attached notification for full details.
Clinical Services Building and Central Energy Building sites
Construction activities:
- Ongoing installation of hydraulics, mechanical, fire protection, electrical services and lifts.
- Ongoing façade infill and screen installation.
- Ceiling installation on Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- Fittings and fixtures installation on Levels 1 and 2.
- Floor finishes, painting and waterproofing activities on Levels 1,2,3 and 4.
- Central courtyard façade construction.
- Fitout works ongoing for the Central Energy Building.
- Linkway activities
- Commencement of existing window infills.
- Continuation of roadworks on mental health road.
- Commissioning activities.
What to expect:
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
- Single lane closure on hospital ring road leading into mental health managed by traffic lights and traffic controllers.
Multi-Storey Car Park site
Construction activities:
- Footpath works external to the car park, including tree removal
- Internal line marking.
- Ramp way formwork and scaffold removal.
- Commencement of civil road works.
What to expect:
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
- Localised impact to hospital ring road managed by traffic lights and traffic controllers during tree removal.
Building and Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) Building site (southern side of the hospital campus)
Construction activities:
- Ongoing external facade installation.
- Ongoing sheeting, setting, sanding and painting to internal walls and internal ceilings.
- Commencement of waterproofing activities.
- Continuation of flooring activities.
- Reinstatement works to existing easement.
- Continuation of civil works
- Form, reo and pour activities for hoist bay area and laydown area.

- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
New storage facilities site (western side of hospital campus)
Construction activities:
- In-ground electrical and comms pits.
- Electrical works.
- Structural steel stair installation.

Mortuary and Hearse Bay works (services block refurbishment works)
Construction activities:
- Ongoing in-ground structure activities.
- Perimeter wall and full height wall demolition.
- Commencement of high-level service installation.
What to expect:
- Increased construction activity and vehicle movements on the southern side of the hospital campus, near the public carpark.
- Localised corridor impacts during full height wall demolition managed by spotters.
