Site activity update – Wednesday 11 to Friday 20 January 2023

We hope you have enjoyed the festive season and are ready for an exciting year ahead as the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment Projects head to completion. We will continue to keep you updated on construction activities and any impacts throughout the year.

Permanent power connection works for the new Clinical Services Building

The underground works for the new power supply connection are now completed with minor reinstatement and landscaping works within road reserves to finish.

Clinical Services Building and Central Energy Building sites

Construction activities:

  • Ongoing installation of hydraulics, mechanical, fire protection, electrical services and lifts.
  • Ongoing façade infill installation.
  • Internal wall framing and sheeting on Levels 3 and 4.
  • Ceiling installation on Levels 1, 2 and 5.
  • Floor finishes, painting and waterproofing activities on Levels 1,2,3 and 5.
  • Ongoing façade screen install.
  • Blockwork activities for the Central Energy Building.
  • In-ground structure and services activities for the linkways

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Multi-Storey Carpark site

Construction activities:

  • Formwork, reinforcement and concrete pours for external ramps.
  • Façade screening install.
  • Roadworks on the hospital ring road between the multi-storey carpark and the private hospital.

What to expect:

  • Single lane road closure managed by traffic lights and traffic controllers
  • Carparking around private hospital area impacted at times.

Building and Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) Building site (southern side of the hospital campus)

Construction activities: 

  • Roofing activities.
  • Ongoing façade framing and internal partition setout activities.
  • High level services install activities.
  • Structural steel installation at western end.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

New storage facilities site (western side of hospital campus)

Construction activities:

  • Drain down and de-construction of existing fire tank
  • Installation of two new fire pumps and decommissioning of old fire pumps

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Mortuary and Hearse Bay works (services block refurbishment works)

Construction activities:

  • Ongoing isolation and demolition activities.
  • Relocation of air-conditioning units adjacent the new hearse bay
  • Commencement of excavation and in-ground structure activities

What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity and vehicle movements on the southern side of the hospital campus, near the public carpark.
