Acute Inpatient Service Mental Health
We care for people over the age of 18 who require inpatient care for the treatment of mental health issues. The service consists of 2 acute wards that have capacity for 47 people.
Our services
We care for people who require more support during their initial stay in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Units. Admission to the inpatient service is arranged following an assessment by a mental health clinician or doctor at Redcliffe or Caboolture Emergency Departments, Acute Care or Community Teams. Services include:
- planning your care, treatment and recovery
- supporting and assisting you to achieve daily goals and recognise your strengths
- ongoing treatment after you leave hospital.
How to access this service
Admission to the inpatient service is arranged following an assessment by a mental health clinician and doctor. Patients can be referred through 1300 MH CALL (1300 64 22 55).

Each time you visit us
- Your Medicare card
- Health Care Card and/or concession card (if you have one)
- Recovery goals and plan
- Medications you are currently taking, including any that you have bought without a prescription and herbal medicine
- Private health insurance card (if you want to use it)
- Glasses, hearing aid, walking frame
