Cancelling
Many people need time to think about their options, and some people decide hormones aren’t the right choice for them. This may be because they:
- Have decided not to start hormones
- Have decided that now is not the right time to start hormones
- Have concerns about starting hormones that they want to discuss further with the medical doctors
- Want to undergo fertility preservation with sperm or egg retrieval and freezing before beginning hormone therapy
- Want to address other health issues prior to beginning hormone therapy
Rescheduling
We understand that sometimes things happen unexpectedly or are forgotten. That’s why we send you an SMS the business day before your appointment as a reminder. It is important that you respond to appointment offers and attend appointments.
If you need to reschedule your appointment, please tell us as early as possible.
Rescheduling without adequate notice too often can result in your being discharged from the service back to your GP.
Missed appointments
If you can’t attend your appointment, please tell us as early as possible.
Failure to attend more than one appointment can result in your being discharged from the service back to your GP.
Can I have a support person come with me to my appointments?
Yes. You are welcome to include a support person (including support workers, partner, family members or others) in your appointments. You should be comfortable sharing personal and confidential information with any support person, that may be discussed as part of your appointment.
