Psychiatric Emergency Centre

We provide advice and a comprehensive mental health assessment 24 hours a day for people who present to the Emergency Department or call via 1300 MH CALL (1300 64 22 55).

Our services

We support people experiencing acute symptoms or struggling with:

• depression and anxiety
• schizophrenia and psychosis
• bipolar disorder
• borderline personality disorder
• drug and alcohol related problems, including psychosis.

You will be asked questions about how you are feeling and discuss services that may assist you either within or outside of the public mental health service. From this assessment you may be referred to the Acute Care Service, inpatient care or a non-government agency.

You don’t need a referral to access this service. Present in person to an Emergency Department or call 1300 MH CALL (1300 64 22 55).
