Po Inglis has a Bachelor of Science obtained Monash University 1994, majoring in molecular biology and where early research work was in reproductive biology and andrology at the Monash Medical Centre. She was successful in Anti-Cancer Foundation Grants where she worked in labs headed by Professor T Gonda and R D’Andrea in the field of breast cancer and leukaemia at the Hanson Centre for Cancer Research/ IMVS now Hanson Institute /SA Pathology. During her time in South Australia she also obtained her MBBS. She moved to Brisbane where whilst working as a medical registrar she was fortunate enough to be mentored by Professor Kwun Fong’s lung cancer lab at The Prince Charles Hospital. After achieving her FRACP (Med Onc), in 2009 working as a full time specialist she started collaborating with QIMR and Professor Andrew Boyd in the area of brain tumors. The motivation to establish translational oncology and a collaboration between the clinic and lab, has seen the development of KB004 currently in early clinical trial phase for high grade gliomas. Her major clinical streams at the RBWH are breast, brain and adolescent and young adult rare tumors, she actively engages in national and international clinical trials, and continues to support scientists in their pursuit to make molecular oncologic discoveries and therapeutic strategies.
