Caboolture Hospital Children's AppealThe Common Good (an initiative of The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation) has launched its first fundraising appeal at Caboolture Hospital, focusing its efforts on the children’s ward to provide both a specialised incubator bed for critically ill children and a refurbished children’s play area.

Narangba residents and Caboolture Hospital family the Dunlops know all too well the importance of Caboolture Hospital for the local community.

“Our five-year-old son Kyran has a rare genetic disorder called Krabbe disease,” mum Carissa said.

“This impacts his brain and nervous system and as a result, he requires a significant level of care both at home, and at hospital.

“Whilst we are currently having a good run away from hospital, we would generally be visiting Caboolture Hospital four to five times per year, often for one to two weeks at a time.

“The Caboolture Hospital teams have become our second family and the kindness and care we have received from them has been priceless throughout what really has been a horrific ordeal for our family.

“I would encourage the community to get behind the Caboolture Hospital Children’s Appeal because this hospital is the absolute lifeblood of our community. They are there for us day and night when Kyran and our family have needed them.”

The Common Good CEO Michael Hornby said he was proud of the charity’s first appeal for Caboolture Hospital.

“The Common Good is proud to extend our support to Caboolture Hospital,” Mr Hornby said.

“We know that this hospital is critical to the community and with a growing population to serve, it’s more important than ever that we all come together to support these important projects.”
