Flooding update

Some of our facilities and many of our staff have been substantially isolated by flood waters within the Metro North region. This is particularly affecting our colleagues who work at Caboolture Hospital and/or living in this area – but there are also lots of areas in the Redcliffe Peninsular and Greater Brisbane areas affected.

Our hospital and HHS Incident Management Teams (IMT) are active this weekend working to manage the impact of this weather event on our services.

Staff working at Caboolture are able to access the hospital via train at this time (the Caboolture line is running, with minor weather disruptions to some stations).

If you are unable to access your Metro North place of employment for your rostered shift please notify your supervisor as soon as practical.  We will make arrangements for you to work at another facility if appropriate.

Call out to staff: For any Metro North staff that may be currently in the Caboolture area and are willing to work rostered or additional shifts, I encourage you to contact your Hospital Co-ordinator to let them know of your interest. We will work with you to determine if there is an appropriate opportunity to work at Caboolture Hospital.

Authorities have warned the downpour is set to continue and have asked Queenslanders to limit unnecessary travel. Please stay home where possible and if you are working this weekend, please ensure you have a safe route to and from work. If it’s flooded, forget it.

Tier move next week

As mentioned yesterday we will be moving down to Tier 2 of our COVID response plan from 7am Monday 28 February. The Tier 2 plan will be available on Monday. You will be provided details of what this change means.

PPE requirements are no longer linked to our response tier, as this is now managed centrally in Queensland. We remain high risk category of the Queensland PPE matrix. Please continue to wear the appropriate PPE for your type of work.
