Thank you to everyone who has submitted a feedback form (two wishes and a star) to the Staff Council. Rest assured we have received your feedback, and we are now working to action these and develop initiatives over the coming year.

Our plan is to focus our initiatives around our Staff Council 5-pointed star:

  • Healthy minds @ STARS
  • Healthy bodies @ STARS
  • Happy patients @ STARS
  • Happy staff @ STARS
  • Happy community @ STARS

While the ‘wishes’ in the feedback give us actions to focus on, another wonderful aspect of the feedback forms is that we get to see what you love about working at STARS and what you enjoy most about coming to work each day. We thought it would be great to share with you all some of the feedback we received. How lucky we are to work here!!

  • The atmosphere! Especially between nursing and admin staff, there is a bit of a sense of family and comradery.
  • Love how friendly people are. The fact that almost everyone makes effort to use stars name badge and uses them to say hi. Keep it up!
  • The people and culture. STARS has an exceptional work environment with managerial teams that actually care about their staff
  • The people and the initiatives to always improve
  • The amazing people I work with and the beautiful clean facility
  • The team environment is also strong – and flows to patient care, forming a positive feedback loop of patients giving thanks and solidifying the team environment of quality care.

Our first Happy Community @ STARS initiative is ‘Stars@STARS’. Each month we will interview one of our amazing staff to get to know them better. If you would like to be a Star@STARS or want to nominate someone for us to interview, please reach out and send us an email (STARS_SC@health.qld.gov.au)! We would love to get to know people from all areas of the hospital.

Look out for our first Stars@STARS in our upcoming email or on our Teams page.

Lastly, you can connect with us on our Teams page. We have recently added profiles of the STARS Staff Council members for you to check out. We have a link to our feedback form and a calendar with upcoming awareness days, professional celebration days and events.

We will also be using it as a platform to showcase any social events or activities happening in STARS.

Thanks everyone. We hope you are having a great week!

Alana and Kristiana (on behalf of your Staff Council)
