Screen2Quit app helps you get, and stay, smoke-free. It provides:
- helpful tips and distractions to overcome cravings
- tracking systems to chart your progress
- facts to help you understand the impact smoking has on your health.
- A forum to connect with other people trying to quit
Screen2Quit has been developed by the University of Queensland and The Project Factory as a research version of the My QuitBuddy app.

About the trial
Screen2Quit is a research trial that compares the effect of different electronic smoking cessation resources in combination with usual smoking cessation support such as your GP, medications and Quitline. Trial participants have been selected by the research team.
The Screen2Quit app is only available to people who are enrolled in the clinical trial. You will need your unique trial ID number to activate the app.
Privacy Policy
Miroma Project Factory built Screen2Quit for the University of Queensland as part of a randomised controlled trial of electronic resources to help smokers undergoing Lung Cancer Screening quit. It is a free tool available only to selected trial participants. It is intended for use as is.
Miroma Project Factory respects your right to privacy and is committed to safeguarding the privacy of all our customers, clients and users. We adhere to the National Privacy Principles established by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy sets out how we collect, use and disclose your personal information if you use our Service. What do we mean by ‘Personal Information’? We define this as:
information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information or opinion is true or not; and whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Use, which is accessible via the App unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
This app does not collect any personally identifiable information, meaning we do not collect any of the following Name, Email, Gender, Postcode.
We do collect your unique Trial ID which has been issued to you subsequent to your Consent to participate in their trial by confirming you have read and agreed to the Participant Consent and Information Form. As a part of your consent to participate in this trial, personally identifiable details have been captured separately and are linked to this Trail ID. That means that your use of this app and the interactions you make here will be captured by data gathering system and will be linked to you personally.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service;
- To provide the Service on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services; or
- To assist us in analysing how our Service is used.
These third parties have access to your Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose. These third-parties, along with links to their privacy policies, include App Stores to distribute our apps (their privacy policies are Apple App Store and Google Play Services) and depending how you access our Services, we use Flurry Analytics to send notifications to you.
Log Data
When you use our Service, if an error happens in the app, we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilising our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics. This information is not retained or used by us in any manner.
Cookies
Cookies are files with tiny amounts of data that are used as anonymous unique identifiers.
This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly and the app does not use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You are not asked to approve the use of cookies as these are not used in any manner in this service.

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.
