Nurses recognised for excellence
Six nurses and three nursing teams from The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to health care at the hospital’s annual Nursing Excellence Awards.
The Nursing Excellence Awards, which are held in line with International Nurses Day
(May 12), acknowledge those nurses who have excelled in the areas of Leadership and Management; Research; Clinical Practice; Nursing Education; and Outstanding Collegial Support.
Winners of the 2018 Nursing Excellence Awards are:
- Megan Lowe – Winner, Leadership and Management
- Kylie Sykes – Highly Commended, Leadership and Management
- Ward 2D and Ward 2E – Joint Winners, Clinical Practice
- Acute Pain Service – Winner, Nursing Education
- Josie Lovegrove – Highly Commended, Research
- Margaret Porra and Liz Pardede – Joint Winners, Outstanding Collegial Support
- Felicity Pollard – Highly Commended, Outstanding Collegial Support
TPCH’s Director of Nursing Cherie Franks said that the Awards were a way of acknowledging the great achievements of individual nurses and nursing teams.
“Nurses are a vital part of the health care team, supporting the delivery of high quality care to our patients across a variety of settings.
“I thank each of them for their dedication to improving the health of our patients and the community every day,” Ms Franks said.
