CANCELLED: Common challenges in primary care: Haematology shared care
Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS) and Brisbane North PHN invite GPs to join us and our panel of experts for an evening of education, networking and discussion on the subject of shared care for low grade haematology conditions in the Metro North region.
The panel will be discussing the management of myelodysplastic disorders, monoclonal gammopathies of unknown significance and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and how the follow up of these patients can be co-ordinated between primary care and hospital specialists.
The evening will be an interactive session with representatives from the Metro North Haematology Department. Join your GP colleagues in engaging with our panel of experts about your own cases, so bring plenty of questions.
Learning outcomes
- Develop strategies of appropriate safe investigation of patients identified to have abnormal haematology laboratory investigations and when to refer
- Recognise haematology red flags that signify serious disease or deterioration
- Outline and discuss the management of low-grade haematological disorders as they relate to shared care
- Review and discuss the shared care haematology project
