Tania provides vital link between services
After two decades of supporting the smooth running of community-based health care services and facilities across Pine Rivers, Aspley, Chermside and Caboolture, Facility Manager Tania Stewart says there are still new things to learn every day.
Throughout her day, Tania wears multiple facility and patient care support hats including managing clinical resources, equipment and QFleet vehicles, as well as managing key facility maintenance and upgrades, and day-to-day service requests.
As the Facility Manager at Caboolture and King Street Community Health Centres, Tania said the recent replacement of air conditioning units across the Caboolture Community Health Centre required a lot of planning and thought.
“Juggling the replacement of so many units and the movement of many staff and services was a challenge, as we wanted to minimise service and patient disruption as much as possible,” Tania said.
“There are many clinical rooms and services across Caboolture including the Alcohol and Drug Service, Post Acute Care Service, Complex Chronic Disease Service, Community Based Rehabilitation Team and the recently relocated Oral Health Service which required attention.”
Tania was recognised recently for her leadership and collaboration as part of the Community and Oral Health Staff Excellence Awards.
“I am important link between services. I love that every day is different and I am supported by a wonderful team of facility managers across the directorate,” Tania said.
Recently, Tania was instrumental in delivering upgrades to the Caboolture Community Health Centre reception and front entry, as well as an intercom to enable staff to safely work.
Tania introduced automated parking bollards to ensure allocated QH fleet parking is available when staff return from home visits.
She has also delivered better patient wheelchair access, better clinical storage and introduced bariatric equipment for patients.
