Wally the Wellness Trolley rolls into Caboolture Hospital’s Emergency Department

Caboolture Hospital’s Emergency Department has welcomed a cheerful new team member—and while he might not wear scrubs, he’s already lifting spirits across the ward.
Meet Wally the Wellness Trolley, a brightly stocked cart of snacks, smiles and support, created by Assistant in Nursing and Peer Responder Scott Clark to help care for the carers who look after our community around the clock.
With the Emergency Department seeing up to approximately 200 patients a day, Scott saw an opportunity to show appreciation for his hardworking colleagues.
“We’re busier than ever, and it’s so important that our team feels supported so we can continue providing the best possible care for patients,” Scott said.
Wally is filled with all sorts of goodies, from sweet and savoury snacks to stress busters and handwritten notes of encouragement.
Perched on top is a bowl of ‘cheer spheres’, filled with light-hearted messages designed to make staff smile during a busy shift.
Entirely funded and restocked by staff, Wally is an initiative that’s quickly become part of the department’s culture.
Scott’s simple but powerful idea is a reminder that caring for one another helps the whole community—because when healthcare workers are supported, patients benefit too.
