COVID-19 in Queensland

Visiting our hospitals and healthcare facilities

Current traffic light level – AMBER

Queensland has moved to a traffic light system for COVID advice. We are currently in AMBER.

This means we recommend you wear a mask:

  • in healthcare settings
  • indoors, if you can’t socially distance
  • on public transport
  • if you are older or medically at risk
  • if you’re around people who are vulnerable to COVID-19
  • if required by a venue or household.

Masks are strongly recommended in Metro North hospitals and healthcare facilities, particularly when providing care to, working with, supporting, or visiting vulnerable persons.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms take a rapid antigen test (RAT) – or every two days, if someone in your household tests positive to COVID-19.

If you get COVID-19:

  • register your RAT results
  • stay home until you’re well
  • wear a mask for 7 days after your test
  • avoid visiting hospitals, aged care or disability care for 7 days after your test
  • ask household members to closely monitor their symptoms

If you have been diagnosed with COVID and require an urgent visit to a loved one, please contact the ward team leader via the hospital switchboard.
