The Centre for Excellence and Innovation in Anaesthesia (CEIA) would like to invite you to attend the 4th Perioperative Patient Blood Management Symposium. Patient Blood Management is complex and its implementation often presents many challenges. We will focus on the importance and evidence in Perioperative Blood Management and provide advice on implementation strategies.

Local, national and international experts will present state of the art knowledge and latest research.

Our dedicated workshop day will be held on Friday 14th February with plenty of hands on experience and take home material.

Participants in the ANZCA CPD program may claim this event under the Knowledge and Skills Activity Learning sessions at 1 credit per hour.

Poster Competition

Clinicians have the opportunity to exhibit their scientific poster with the best poster awarded a prize to the value of $500. Posters will be displayed and a prize winner will be announced at the close of the symposium.

Workshop Day – Friday 14th February 2020

Our dedicated workshop day will take place the day before the symposium with three different workshops to choose from.

All workshops run simultaneously therefore please only select one when registering.

This workshop is dedicated towards the understanding of academic and management requirements essential to running a successful intraoperative cell salvage (ICS) service. The RBWH has celebrated 25 years of excellent, state of the art and current intraoperative cell salvage technology and skills in 2017. The aim of this workshop is to share our experiences with participants.

This workshop is designed to educate participants in a modern and practical approach to the management of severe bleeding, including massive transfusion protocols, options for vascular access, point of care coagulation testing and blood product selection. The workshop is aimed towards medical professionals.

See the latest gear, the latest tricks to control external bleeding, how blood products are integrated into out of hospital care and see highly trained Critical Care Paramedics and Doctors in action.
