For teachers

Teachers have an important role in helping their students identify dental problems and care for their teeth.  Smarter smiles is designed to help teachers support a student who has dental issues, know how to deal with a dental injury or how to refer the child to seek free public dental treatment.

Teaching staff can access a free 45 minute continuing professional development article and quiz to increase dental first aid knowledge, and upon completion, receive a certificate of completion.

ALL Dental Injuries Require Assessment

 Teeth can be injured in ways which may not be obvious to the naked eye. Whenever a dental trauma incidence occurs it should be checked by a dental professional regardless of how severe you think it may be.

A free dental appointment for students can be made by calling the Oral Health Call Centre on 1300 300 850.
