Helping others a clear call for Beverley
Let’s call it: our Metro North Oral Health Service Administrative Officer Beverley Sweeper is a very kind person who loves helping others.
The administrative officer, who has worked at the Oral Health Call Centre for around five years, is part of a small team on the phone and behind the scenes helping oral health patients get the best possible care.
“I have always liked the interactions with patients in any of the roles I do,” Beverley said.
“I get a feeling of satisfaction when I get a good outcome for the patient, especially patients who are facing a lot of physical and personal challenges.
“Being able to help them is so important, especially being able to talk people through the process of getting an appointment and what happens next.
“I work with a great team. Our Oral Health Call Centre team is very supportive of each other and everyone who calls for help.”
Beverley also has an extensive background in supporting others, interacting with clients and patients through her support and switchboard roles across the health, mining and aged care sectors.
She is part of a professional team who receive as many as 500 calls each day in relation to referrals to public and private oral health care.
The team manages referrals ranging from general dentistry to highly specialised orthodontist and complex oral health care for adults and children.
Metro North Oral Health Service offers free oral health care for over 120,000 eligible adults each year at our general practice dental clinics across north Brisbane and our rural and remote oral health service.
The service includes the Child and Adolescent Oral Health Service which also provides general and emergency dental care for eligible children at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
