Brighton Health Campus gardener recognised

Congratulations Ron.

Congratulations Ron.

Brighton Health Campus’s multi-award winner gardener and State Emergency Service (SES) Volunteer Ron Aquilina has been recognised for his service to the community.

He recently received the Commissioner’s Commendation of Notable Action Award for his work at the Moreton Bay SES Unit at Petrie.

His commendation was for outstanding professionalism, bravery and skill in hazardous circumstances during flood boat and flood damage operations in February 2022.

Ron, who has been a gardener at Brighton Health Campus for the past 15 years and member of the SES for 25, clearly has a heart of gold and cares for others.

“I care about people and community. I really enjoy serving and looking after them all, but all of our volunteers are there for those people who are in need.

Ron is officially the Moreton Bay Region Flood Boat Coordinator who looks after six emergency boats and teams.

“As a gardener at Brighton Health Campus I love seeing the staff members, patients, residents and visitors to Brighton Health Campus sitting down on the beach front together enjoying the gardens and beautiful surroundings here.”

In terms of life success, Ron lives by the motto of “if you dream believe you will succeed.”
