CBCI partners with community through forums

The Comprehensive Breast Cancer Institute has continued its community awareness activities in 2024, by partnering with health consumers to regularly share updates in innovations and research. In addition to regular community forums, CBCI hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Month forum in October which was attended by over 170 stakeholders.

Community groups, consumers and clinicians attended the event at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, which touched on a range of activities including “The Future – 3D Scaffolds”, “Improving the Pathway”, “Nurturing Breast Health” and the “Sistas Shawl Initiative” to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women with breast screening.

The October forum concluded with a panel of multi-disciplinary clinicians to answer questions from the audience. Consumer feedback was incredibly positive, with health consumers attesting to how supported they felt in their breast care journey by attending the event.
