The introduction of a new electronic medical record system at Redcliffe Hospital, replacing traditional paper-based clinical charts, is supporting the delivery of improved outcomes for patients.
The launch of Integrated Electronic Medical Record (ieMR) has significantly changed how the hospital delivers healthcare to patients.
Executive Director Cang Dang said that the ieMR solution helps medical, nursing, allied health and other staff provide holistic, patient-centred care.
“The digital system centralises patient information and allows staff to access the information they need, when they need it,” Cang said.
“Like any major change in healthcare, the ieMR roll-out was challenging, as staff prepared for the new system while continuing to provide quality patient care.
“Our staff worked diligently in preparing for the implementation, with many staff contributing to how the ieMR was successfully rolled out.”
Following the successful implementation, staff are now turning their attention to embedding ieMR and realising the benefits.
“We are now focused on continuously improving how we work with ieMR, becoming quicker, more streamlined for our staff and using the ieMR to unlock the benefits of modern data science and improve outcomes for patients,” Cang said.
“Ultimately, the ieMR implementation will deliver safer and more efficient care for patients at Redcliffe Hospital.
“With access to on demand patient information and powerful clinical data, the ieMR will continue to help our staff as we improve patient care.”
