Queensland Cardiac Genetics Clinic
The Queensland Cardiac Genetics Clinic is a collaborative clinical service of the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. The clinic is conducted using a multidisciplinary approach with both cardiology and genetics staff in attendance. The clinic is a statewide service accepting referrals from across Queensland. The clinic is primarily based at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, however regional clinics and telehealth appointments are also available.
Individuals who might be referred to the Queensland Cardiac Genetics Clinic:
- Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
- Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC)
- Left ventricular non-compaction (LVNC)
- Dilated cardiomyopathy
- Long QT syndrome
- Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT)
- Brugada syndrome
- Sudden unexplained death in a young relative (less than 40 years of age)
