A warm welcome to Redcliffe for new starters

RN Binoy from New Zealand has joined Redcliffe Hospital’s Day Procedure Unit.

Redcliffe Hospital welcomed sixteen new staff members this month – all joining the #IamRedcliffe team at an orientation session in the hospital’s Education Centre.

The new starters include new nursing staff, through to those who will work in operational services, like the hospital’s kitchen.

Among the new faces was registered nurse Binoy, who came to Redcliffe Hospital from New Zealand.

Binoy says he chose to work at Redcliffe because it was a smaller hospital with a strong community.

“I heard Redcliffe had a lovely atmosphere where people know each other – that’s why I took the opportunity,” Binoy said.

Binoy has already started work with the nursing team in the hospital’s Day Procedure Unit.

“Teamwork there is very important, and compassion too. The values I care about are reflected at Redcliffe Hospital.”

Enrolled nurse Sara-Jane is also new to the facility.

Coming from Byron Bay to Redcliffe, she’s stayed close to the beach, but likes that she can walk to the hospital each day.

“I wanted to be part of a good team again, and that seems to be happening,” Sara-Jane said.

“I’m looking forward to expanding my skill set and taking advantage of the educational opportunities offered at Redcliffe Hospital and Metro North.”

“The team on 5 West have been fantastic. Inclusive, helpful and very friendly. It’s been a really nice introduction to working here.”

Redcliffe Hospital provides orientation sessions for new starters each month. The sessions cover many practical things about working at the hospital while also introducing staff to the values of Redcliffe Hospital and Metro North Health.
