Metro North Sexual Health Service
The Metro North Sexual Health Service is a confidential appointment-based clinical service providing testing and treatment for sexually transmissible infections (STIs).
The service also provides HIV post exposure prophylaxis (PEP), management and care of HIV and has an onsite specialist pharmacy.
A referral from your General Practitioner (GP) may be required but is not essential for most services.
Provision of Private Pathology Forms
From the 1st July 2022 we are no longer permitted to provide private pathology forms to our patients.
Pathology can only be collected at our clinic or at another Queensland Health facility. Any testing collected at a private pathology clinic will unfortunately incur a fee.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
GP Referrals
Please forward all referrals directly to the clinic using the SHS GP referal form (regardless of which clinic you refer to). We will contact the patient within three working days from the time we receive it. If the matter requires immediate management, GPs and other health staff are advised to contact the clinic during opening hours and ask to speak with a doctor or nurse.
PLEASE NOTE: Sexual Health Service is making changes that may affect your patients in the collection, management and storage of patients’ health information. Specifically:
- There is no change to who can access an appointment at Sexual Health Service or the way care or treatment to patients is delivered.
- From 24th August 2020, patients will be requested to present their Medicare Card at the time of appointment. If no Medicare Card is available, photo identification will be required.
- From 26th October 2020, Sexual Health Service will be transitioning to recording health information in ieMR, the Queensland Health electronic medical record. For more information, please read the About your Sexual Health Service medical record brochure
If you would like more information about the services offered by the Metro North Sexual Health Service, please see our clinic information. We are a free confidential appointment-based service with locations in Brisbane CBD, Redcliffe and Caboolture.
