The enhancement of our Post Acute Care Service is an important milestone for the directorate and reflective of the demand for accessible and compassionate care that supports the needs of our community.
The introduction of a geriatrician-led model of care will enhance the care that Metro North Health delivers to the elderly and will support healthy ageing.
This model of care wasn’t something that was implemented overnight and involved a lot of planning and behind the scenes work by many across our service.
Thank you to everyone involved in introducing this important service.
Looking back over last month, we also took some time to thank our nurses and acknowledge the work of Elders past, present and emerging as part of National Reconciliation Week.
I am very committed to recognising the important work of our peers. Our staff are our greatest asset. You are the ones that are the heart of the service we provide and the compassionate care we aspire to deliver.
I know that the past few years have been difficult for many of you and I continue to ask that you take care of yourself and your families.
At the same time, please take the time to nominate one of your peers for a Community and Oral Health Staff Excellence Award which closes Friday 15 July.
I hope you enjoy this edition of the newsletter which has some great stories.
