The past month has been very difficult for the whole service and the pressures are becoming very familiar to us all.
Even with these pressures our staff continue to stand tall and provide the best possible care to our patients and residents.
I am very proud to lead this great directorate filled with such great teams and compassionate staff.
Last month, we saw Gannet House pass its reaccreditation assessment through the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission – with no recommendations required.
Well done to all of the Gannet House team who have maintained accreditation readiness and ensured this wonderful outcome.
From the main article you can see that there will be a great deal of investment in some of the COH facilities in the coming year, as we go green with renewable energy.
This follows on from some great work of our Building, Engineering and Maintenance (BEMs) team who have been busy upgrading many of our facilities following generous BPA staff survey funding from Metro North Health.
The Excellence Awards nomination process has been extended so we can get through the current challenges.
There are many teams and individuals who deserve recognition for the work they do.
I hope you enjoy this edition of the COH Express.
