Volunteers and auxiliary members have returned to Redcliffe Hospital after standing down back in March for their own safety.
Redcliffe Hospital Executive Director Louise Oriti said asking the volunteers and auxiliary members to stand down temporarily had been a difficult decision but a necessary one to protect them from the risk of COVID-19.
“That was back in March, and everyone was very keen for our volunteers and auxiliary to be back with us, as soon it was safe for them,” Louise said.
“The Auxiliary Gift Shop in the foyer of the hospital is open again, offering books, CDs and lots of hand-made gifts, and hospital volunteers are back at the front counter of the hospital, in SOPD and many other places.”
Louise said there had already been some lovely feedback from our volunteers saying how warmly they’ve been welcomed back by staff.
