Lung Cancer is the #1 cause of cancer deaths in Australia.

Thank you for your interest in helping advance research into lung cancer screening.

We are researching how best to identify people who are at risk of lung cancer and may benefit from screening in different Australian settings.

For people at risk of developing lung cancer living in a range of geographic and socioeconomic communities

Are you:

  • aged from 50-80
  • current or former smoker
  • generally well, e.g. capable of doing light work
  • willing to provide consent to have a chest CT scan for the trial

For never / light smokers

Are you:

  • aged from 55-74
  • never smoked or are a current / former light smoker
  • generally well, e.g. capable of doing light work
  • willing to provide consent to have a chest CT scan for the trial

Are you:

The University of Queensland Thoracic Research Centre is recruiting participants to other lung cancer screening studies. If you currently smoke and want help to quit, including counselling and free nicotine replacement therapy, the Max Up trial may be of interest to you or your friends/family.
