My name is Kelvin, and I am a proud Norfolk Island resident.
I’ve first presented to Metro North Health Services in July 2024 and continue accessing Metro North Health Services for my specialised care.
Traveling to Brisbane for treatment felt daunting at first, however from my very first visit, the professionalism and compassion I experienced at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) put me at ease. All the staff provided excellent care and made sure I was well looked after.
At every admission, the nurses and doctors treated me with genuine respect and attention. They answered my questions and made sure I always felt informed. On top of this, the meals were tasty, and I had a range of options available to me!
Being so far from Norfolk Island can be stressful, not just for me but for my partner too. Knowing I was in capable hands gave her real peace of mind, especially when she couldn’t be there by my side. That reassurance allowed us both to focus on my recovery.
The care being delivered to Norfolk Island by Queensland Metro North Health is wonderful. My partner and I are very grateful for the extra care and attention we receive, and we respect the dedication that goes into making Norfolk Island residents feel supported.
