A team of four new paediatric experts have joined Caboolture Hospital to improve care experiences for sick children.

The specialist team will work to support better operation of the hospital’s Paediatric Services to provide an enhanced service for a booming region with a high population of paediatric patients.

The team, who share nearly 100 years’ experience between them, will support the new Paediatric Emergency Department, Children’s Ward and outpatient areas.
The team consists of Dr Rajeev Jarugula, Clinical Director Paediatric Emergency Department; Rebekah Rawson, Associate Nurse Unit Manager Paediatric Emergency Department; Dr Michelle Davison, Medical Director Emergency Service Line; and Kylie Sykes, Assistant Nursing Director Paediatrics.

Dr Michelle Davison will oversee medical teams within Caboolture’s Adult and Paediatric Emergency departments as well as Kilcoy Hospital, Woodford Corrections Health, Bribie Island Satellite Hospital (Yarun), and Caboolture Satellite Hospital (Kabul).

“We will be working to develop improved models of care, continuing our focus on education and research, and providing more training opportunities for staff,” Dr Davison said.

“There will also be a greater focus on bolstering our existing workforce within the new Emergency Department to ensure we can continue providing safe, high-quality care to the hospital’s growing community.
“It’s about making our emergency departments a place that people know they can get the care they need.”
