Redcliffe Hospital is leading the way in research, demonstrating its commitment to co-design, collaboration, and innovation through its eighth annual Redcliffe Hospital Research Symposium.

Director of Research at Redcliffe Hospital, Dr Joel Dulhunty said the event has come a long way since launching in 2017.

“The sheer breadth of practice changing research and quality improvement activities undertaken by hospital staff, consumers and our partners is what makes the Redcliffe Hospital Research Symposium such a dynamic and rewarding event,” Dr Dulhunty said.

This year’s event was attended by more than 120 people and featured 14 research and quality improvement posters and 17 presentations that spoke to research and quality improvement projects that were either complete or underway at the hospital.

Dr Dulhunty is grateful to the many people who make the event happen, including the facilitators, presenters, the hospital’s research committee and senior leadership team.

“Special thanks also to partners including Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital Research Giving Circle and the Redcliffe Hospital Private Practice Trust Fund Advisory Committee who funded many of the projects featured at the symposium,” he said.

Planning is already underway for the 2025 event, with Dr Dulhunty keen to expand the event within Metro North and the local community.

“Each year, we look for ways to incorporate new and innovative elements into the symposium as we celebrate the amazing work of our research teams to develop new understanding, translate knowledge and improve patient care.”
