Redcliffe Hospital has celebrated its latest #IamRedcliffe Team of the Month, Acting Nurse/Midwife Educator, Kate Ducrou.

Those who nominated Kate said that she was always smiling and offering her colleagues kind and compassionate support.

Kate says that when she heard the news and what those who nominated her had to say, she felt very humbled.

“I have only been working at Redcliffe and within this capacity for a short time; however, I feel that the skills, experience and dedication I have brought with me have not gone unnoticed and are indeed appreciated,” Kate said.

“It makes me feel proud to be part of a team that recognises the impact of a smile and kindness. As they say, it doesn’t cost anything to be kind, and a smile can go a long way. You never know what a person may be experiencing in their own world, so that one sign of compassion or moment of support could make all the difference.”

Kate said she was grateful to those who had nominated her and to her Maternity and Neonatal colleagues for the way they prioritised the importance of education and professional development.

“It’s great to work with a team that is committed to quality care,” Kate said.

Kate was one of six nominees from across the hospital for the December award, with other nominees including Ellen Hazelman and Cath Craig; Annemarie Green and Briannon Groves; Arlene Wagner; the Paediatric Ward; and the team from Occupational Therapy.

The #IamRedcliffe Team of the Month award recognises hospital staff, volunteers, and teams that have demonstrated the hospital’s commitment to the Metro North Health values and the hospital’s #IamRedcliffe Agreed Behaviours.
