World Class cardiac team sharing skills
The Prince Charles Hospital’s cardiac expertise was showcased on the world stage at the recent 13th annual Asian Interventional Cardiovascular Therapeutic Congress.
The live case program for the meeting was broadcast via satellite to the Melbourne Convention Centre.
Seven complex interventions were performed over two days by the TPCH team, led by Professor Darren Walters, who were joined by national and international interventional cardiologists.
Prof. Walters said the live cases were considered a highlight of the congress.
“I extend my thanks to everyone involved in the organisation and delivery of this event, including doctors, nurses, radiographers scientists and administrative staff who all worked to make it an outstanding success,” he said.
“I’d particularly like to thank our local organising group of Jim Crowhurst, Michael Savage, Talya Lewis, Rustem Dautov and Margaret Cousins.
“There was overwhelming positive feedback about the quality of the live teaching cases that were considered a highlight of the two day meeting that was attended by more than 500 people.
“Well done, all.”
Thank you to our teams: Darren Walters, Akshay Mishra, Karl Poon, Niranjan Gaikwad, Chris Raffel, Greg Scalia, Anthony Putrino and Ryan Markham; and (national and international): Etsuo Tsuchikane (Japan), Scott Harding (NZ), Sidney Lo (Sydney) and James Sapontis (Melbourne).
