ADCO Constructions helps brighten RBWH

The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital is significantly brighter thanks to ADCO Constructions, who donated time and materials to complete two construction projects.

On Monday 3 July, the ADCO team spent the day installing fairy lights and up lights on trees outside the main entrance and landscaping the area to make it more welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors. In addition, the team gave a makeover to the Level 6 outdoor area, pressure cleaning the tiles, landscaping, and painting the planter boxes.

This is the second year in a row that ADCO Constructions has chosen to donate time and materials on their annual Community Day to RBWH thanks to their strong relationship with the RBWH Foundation.

Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Director Facility and Support Services Peter King said patients and staff alike are thrilled with the improvements to the facility.

“At the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, we are always looking for ways to improve the patient experience,” Mr King said.

“The improvements made by the ADCO team will help make people feel more welcome from the moment they step foot on our campus. We are very grateful.”

ADCO Construction Manager Mason Brown said the team are pleased to work with the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and RBWH Foundation once again.

“RBWH provides so much support to families when they need it most. This community day project is one way we can assist the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital to continue that support while we focus on what we do best – building!” Mr Brown said. ADCO’s community engagement is underpinned by the Brinsmead Hill Family Foundation with an independent board chaired by ADCO Director Tom Hill. ADCO and the Foundation commit nearly $2,000,000 each year, including over 1,000 hours of staff time in support of local Australian communities.

RBWH Foundation CEO Simone Garske said the RBWH Foundation is so grateful for our ongoing partnership with ADCO Constructions.

“The beautiful spaces they created for patients and their loved ones, in the Central Garden at the Hospital and the Outdoor Gardens on Level 6, will provide much-needed places to enhance the patient care experience,” Ms Garske said.

“Thank you to the ADCO team who started at dawn to refresh the outdoor gardens at RBWH.”
