If you've ever left something behind at Redcliffe hospital, chances are Hospital Volunteer Pamela is keeping it safe until you can be reunited with it. 🧺
Many items like glasses, keys and clothes are being handed in with metal water bottles and phone chargers being some of the most common items awaiting their owner’s return.
“It’s understandable, they’re easy to leave behind. People often sit down at the chairs at the front of the hospital and leave without them,” Pamela said.
“People leave things in other places too – like on the shuttle buggy from the car park.”
Pam reassures anyone who may have left something behind at Redcliffe Hospital that they hold onto the items for a few months, so there is plenty of time to collect them! 👕

Does the shuttle buggy take you from the car park to the children’s out patient doctors rooms? There is no parking beside the Paediatric out patients anymore, due to the new hospital expansion!
From a young age, new graduate Kate always knew she wanted to follow in her dad Nathan's footsteps. Now she is starting her new role in palliative care just like her dad did 20 years ago! 🫶
Kate's decision to go into palliative care was solidified after her placement at TPCH in the specialty.
"I looked up to my dad, making a difference in people's lives, being a part of their life story," she said.
Nathan says how it is special to see his daughter follow the same path through Metro North.
"I'm still at Redcliffe Hospital, they are a great team, and we all support each other and work together to make a difference for our patients and families."
What an inspirational role model Dad must be. It’s a true “work of heart” and it sounds as if the profession is blessed to have you both. Welcome!

If the way to the heart is through the stomach, our Dietetics team at Redcliffe Hospital have won the hearts of patients all over the hospital. ❤️
The team, led by Director of Dietetics and Food Services Alyce, are all about the data behind the scenes at mealtime. Alyce and Nutrition Assistant Nicole work together to coordinate patient meal orders in line with dietary and allergy requirements, monitors meal and supplement intakes, assesses patients for signs of malnutrition and corroborates digital meal ordering and health record systems. 🧑🍳
“This role provides opportunities for ongoing skill development with daily hands-on experience,” Alyce said.
“There is always variety in your day as every shift brings different patients and problem-solving opportunities keeping the job interesting and engaging.”
