Baby Amelia is going home from Redcliffe Hospital Special Care Nursery in time for Christmas Day with her family!
Born prematurely at 32 weeks, this little early gift weighed just 1780gm when she came into the world unexpectedly, albeit with fighting spirit.
Amelia's Mum Sophie put her in a festive onesie in preparation for leaving hospital.
"‘I’m so glad she’ll be home for Christmas and will get to meet our family and friends," Sophie said. 🎁
So grateful for the amazing nurses and midwives at Redcliffe who looked after her and made it possible for us to bring her home ❤️ Our little family hopes you all have a beautiful Christmas 🎄

“Spending Christmas in the hospital isn’t what I imagined, but I’m holding onto the thought that healing is the best gift I can give myself right now. The staff have been so kind and friendly and making me feel better about having to stay in hospital. But I'm really looking forward to the day I can get home to see my Lulu, she is an Indian ring neck bird that I rescued and is missing me a lot.”
