Nutrition Research Collaborative

Disease related malnutrition

Our nutrition and dietetic researchers and multidisciplinary partners conduct research to prevent and manage disease related malnutrition across the continuum of clinical care, with a strong focus on strengthening hospital food service systems.

  • Developing and strengthening systems and models of care to prevent and treat malnutrition in hospitals
  • Innovation in food service systems to improve patient care and experience
  • Optimising the patient experience and outcomes with nutritional care through acute disease treatment and beyond; e.g., cancer, surgery, trauma and critical illness
  • Nutrition and mealtime care for inpatients with frailty, delirium and dementia
  • Improving care during and after acute hospital admissions for people with medically unstable eating disorders
