Since taking on the role of Executive Director at Community and Oral Health, I’ve been meeting some wonderful people – all dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of their patients, residents and communities. In the weeks and months to come, I’m looking forward to getting to know the Oral Health side of the directorate even better too.

Community and Oral Health brought home three Metro North’s Australia Day Achievement Awards. A/Executive Director, Glynis Schultz said the awards celebrated some of the heroes of the directorate and thanked those who had taken the time to nominate their peers.

Recognition for keeping people safe

Metro North’s virtual COVID Ward was named as a finalist in the Premier’s Awards for Excellence, in the Keeping Queenslanders Healthy category. The virtual COVID ward was led by COH’s Mary Wheeldon, as Director of Operations.

RBWH’s Professor Lipman internationally recognised

2020 has been a huge year for RBWH Research Ambassador Professor Jeffrey Lipman. The internationally recognised researcher has been honoured twice this year, receiving a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Queen’s Birthday Awards and Honorary Membership of the European Society of Intensive Medicine (ESICM).
