Healthcare services
The Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) is a 182-bed standalone public health facility to increase access to specialist rehabilitation services, elective surgery and endoscopy procedural services, and outpatient services.
The nine-level facility will feature:

Level 3 Rehabilitation Gym and Therapy Area
Rehabilitation services
- 100 rehabilitation beds:
- 60 general rehabilitation beds (30 existing beds transferring from the Geriatric and Rehabilitation Unit (GARU) and 30 new beds)
- New specialist rehabilitation services comprising a 20-bed acquired brain injury unit and a 20-bed specialist rehabilitation unit
- 1310m2 day and inpatient therapy spaces
- 28-bed Geriatric Evaluation and Management Service (GEMS) ward (transferring from RBWH)
- Onsite Rehabilitation Engineering Centre
